Poetry, Harmonium & the Power of Chant

with Ben Wisch

A 5-day workshop teaching the essence of Bhakti Yoga, different practices that support one’s heart to express love in any, and many different devotional ways.

In this program you will explore the basics of playing the harmonium (bringing your own or borrowing a harmonium recommended) and chanting along with it, if the spirit moves you. Each session will build on the lessons from the days preceding. By the end of the weekend you’ll have experienced a wide selection of different chords and chants and styles. Support yourself in your yoga classes or just for your personal enjoyment.

Each session will include a poetry component. Inspirational poems will be woven
into the fabric of each day. Students are encouraged to find and bring in poems appropriate for use in a yoga class, that may be shared. You’ll gather a small library of poetry for use in your Yoga teaching and practices.

Each day will also include:
Pranayama (breathing practices) Asana (physical practice) Restorative Yoga (gentle practice) Meditation Practices
