The Details

In this 25 hour advanced yoga teacher training module, we will explore the various ways in which yoga, in its full expression, can be used to promote mindful resiliency.  This training will demonstrate how yoga philosophy and techniques from the physical practice of yoga (asana), breathing practices (pranayama) and meditation/mindfulness naturally provide a pathway towards a greater sense of ease associated with mindful resiliency. 

 

This training is open to yoga instructors, yoga and mindfulness students at all levels and anyone curious about how yoga philosophy, asana, pranayama and mindfulness can be used enhance our capacity to meet life with greater resiliency.  The module is being taught by Dr. Shari Becker, a licensed clinical psychologist, registered yoga teacher and mindfulness instructor.  Shari brings to this training 20 years of experience as a psychologist, 20 years of personal yoga practice and 6 years of experience teaching mindfulness-based gentle yoga in clinical and studio settings. 

 

Yoga teachers will learn to (1) design a yoga class with a deeper understanding of how yogic philosophy is relevant to yoga practice; (2) incorporate asana poses, breathing practices and mindfulness with a deeper understanding of how they can be used to increase resiliency; (3) take care of themselves before, during and after class to ensure that they create a safe space for their students to practice yoga and mindfulness.  

 

Students of yoga and mindfulness will deepen their understanding of how yoga philosophy, physical practice, breath work and meditation can be used to facilitate mindful resiliency in their own lives. 

Lunch, gentle movement and bathroom breaks will be included throughout the day

 

Important note: This course is not intended to teach participants how to diagnose or treat symptoms of mental illness or trauma.

Qualifications

This training is open to anyone interested in the topic of Mindful Resiliency as it relates to yoga (not only yoga teachers!). If you are a yoga teacher, this training will count towards your 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training with Flow Yoga Studio.

Schedule

Thursday 4/15 through Sunday 4/18

Thursday & Friday: 4:30pm-8:30pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00-4:00pm

Homework will also be assigned.

*Training will be held Live Online through Zoom. We have planned interactive sessions together incorporating lecture, asana practice, meditation, discussion, small group work, reading and reflection.
