In this 25-hour Advanced Teacher Training module with Jody Domerstad, we will study the way human life moves before skeletal deviations or injury have occurred, so that we can skillfully adapt the pose for each individual body and learn to how to teach with a functional approach.
We will focus on the sensation or purpose of the pose and not the shape to enhance students' experience and understanding of their body.
Function over form
Deconstruct anatomy to apply the Functional Approach
Explore the benefit and purpose of each pose
Target Muscles: what are they, why they’re important, and how they impact each pose
Learn to apply the Functional Approach to all yoga poses
Receive a formula to guide your students through a Functional Yoga Class
Discuss the history of Yoga Asana
