Prenatal yoga is an empowering class for the mama to be!
The intense demands of pregnancy, birthing and mothering require a yoga practice that is both challenging and restorative. This class is structured just like a regular vinyasa class however all asanas are modified for the growing belly. We will practice sun salutes, standing and
seated postures and conclude with a relaxing, restorative sequence. By cultivating mindfulness and awareness in the moment and participating in a community of other mothers- to-be, a woman can begin to prepare for this exciting transformation in life.
Julie Finkel:
I am a mother of two young children who passionately believes in healthy habits...moving healthy, living healthy and eating healthy! My practice has taught me how to parent mindfully and learn how to “let go” of certain ideas that were not beneficial to my children or me. Moving mindfully not only can rid our bodies of aches and pains but also prepares us for dealing with tough situations in our day- to-day life including childbirth and mothering. I am certified yoga instructor with certifications from New York Yoga, Lila Wellness and Next Generation Yoga. I have a BA in Dance Studies from Empire State College and received my dance training from Alvin Ailey American Dance Center where I trained exclusively in Horton, ballet, Pilates and anatomy. My yoga career began in New York City teaching at schools, which include Yoga Sutra, The Shala, Area Yoga and many corporate clients throughout Manhattan. I have had the honor to present workshops at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Mountain Pose Yoga Festival in Copper Mountain, Colorado. Currently, I am an instructor for the Sacred Sounds 200 hr teacher training in New York City. I am a graduate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I received my holistic health coaching training.
